After less than an hour’s drive we will arrive at the estancia which lies in the midst of incredible countryside, between the Patagonian Steppe and the ecotone. On the cliff walls here it is possible to view Andean condors, black-chested buzzard eagles and several other attractive bird species, such as the austral parakeet which is endemic to Patagonia.  

Early in the morning (between 08:00 and 09:00 hs (depending on the time of the year), we leave Bariloche and head for the Challhuaco Valley.  A journey of 45 minutes, half on a paved road and half on a gravel road, leads us through a valley and then to the Neumayer refuge hut, situated within an ancient forest of high deciduous beech trees (Notophagus pumilio) …

Early in the morning we leave Bariloche and head along the paved Highway 40 for some 35 minutes, towards Juventus Lake. After a 20-minute walk we will enjoy breakfast on the lakeshore, surrounded by native forest and a wonderful view of Mount Padre Laguna.
